Academic Lifestyle: Discipline, Building Healthy Habits that Builds You.
Organized by: Dosumu Oluwaseyifunmi in collaboration with the Obong University Student Union Government (SUG) On Thursday, 12th June 2025, Obong University held an Academic Symposium that helped students learn how to become more disciplined, focused, and ready to succeed.
More Than a Program: A Vision Fueled by Faith and Wisdom
It wasn’t just an ordinary event, it was a special program that encouraged students to think deeply about their academic life and how to do better. Our guest speaker: Mr. Unyime Anietie, a radio presenter, public speaking and leadership coach spoke to the students about the importance of building good habits like hard work, consistency, and self-control. He reminded everyone that greatness starts now, not after school.
We also had a panel session with three NYSC Corp members: Corper Mary Olojede, Corper Oke Shola Iwami and Corper Christiana Oladiran. They shared their real life stories about how to stay focused, handle academic stress, avoid distractions, and create routines that help both the mind and character.
Main Lessons from the Symposium:
Success in school doesn’t just happen, it comes from the good habits we build every day.
Saying “School na scam” is not true school gives you exposure, knowledge, and helps you reach your goals.
Every student should ask themselves: What good habits am I building today that will help me succeed in school and beyond?

Greatness doesn’t wait for graduation
At Obong University, we are proud to train students not just for good grades, but to become future leaders and positive examples in society.

May we remain united in this purpose, as we continue to empower minds and unleash the revolutionary force of education for lifelong growth—faithfully, boldly, and together.
