| Admission to the department is through the University Matriculation Examination (UME) organized by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) with acceptable marks in addition to five O’level credit passes in relevant subject areas in not more than 2 sittings. | |
| These subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and any other two Science subjects. The UTME subjects include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and one relevant Science subject. |
| A-Level, NCE, OND/ND | Direct Entry |

| Direct entry candidates require 'A' level passes in two relevant subjects including Mathematics and Physics. This is in addition to five (5) '0' level credit passes which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and any other two Science subjects. | |
| Candidates with appropriate OND/ND, Obong University Diploma in Computer Science, or NCE passes may also be considered for admission into 200 level of a relevant degree programme. |
